In my last post I wrote about a problem I was having with Telstra & Bigpond.
Yesterday I had excellent service from Telstra and I think it only fair that I tell you about it.
For the last four days I have been having trouble with my phone. I could not receive phone calls. I could make calls and my broadband (ADSL) was working and I had a mobile if anyone really wanted to call me.
I wasn't too fussed about it and did not report it immediately as I thought Telstra had enough problems with the Flooding around Queensland and particularly here in South East Queensland (SEQ).
So yesterday at about 9 am I went onto the Telstra website and submitted a fault report. Is was an easy painless process.
Within minutes I received a reply email asking to ring a number and talk to the operator, which I did and got straight through. She took further details of the fault and said a Techie would test the line and call me back on my mobile. Within 10 minutes I had a techie (James) call me. He ran a couple of tests and confirmed that it was a line fault and that the job had been logged. A Service Techie would be out by Noon Tuesday at the latest.
At 1:30 Saturday I received a visit from the service techie to say that the fault had been fixed and my phone was working again.
Problem solved in four hours.
Considering all the chaos around SEQ and it was a Saturday it was excellent service. I had been expecting a delay because of the floods and associated problems with getting telecommunications up and running again.
So Kudos to Telstra.

Credit where due. Wonder if they ramped up their general response in response to the floods anyway.
ReplyDeleteWas going to say the same thing as the Doc. The general consensus around the traps is that their service has reached an all time low.
ReplyDeleteGood to hear a good news story.
kinda with Naut and doc..but agree, credit where due. BUT!, one thing just occurred to me. Might it be like ALL THE CATTLE congregating on the HIGH GROUND in time of flood, maybe the techies were all in your area!!!!!..lol..I KNOW. NOT the case..really, but ya never know. YOU ON HIGH GROUND THERE AL!
ReplyDeleteNice to hear they got something right! I'm still receiving my "bill" for A$20 credit, promised cheque yet to arrive.
