I know a few of my loyal readers have a Twitter account.
Here is a reprint of an article in the latest PC Authority Magazine.

Are you keen to add 1000's of followers to your Twitter account in a matter of minutes? A bogus twitter scam is trying to lure unsuspecting twitterers via a third party site, and offering them instant twitter stardom
Ahh Twitter - is it just another excuse to waste time on the Internet or a great way to keep up with the latest news? It seems like quite a few people who get into the Twittering scene are just as concerned about the number of people following them as they are about Demi Moore's new hairdryer.
In an attempt to prey on people's desires to be the top dog in Twitter land, a scam site has been set up to lure those desperate enough to seek instant Twitter followers. According to TechCrunch, the Twittercut is spreading faster than the Swine Flu lately, as you can see by the amount of people getting fooled on this legit Twitter page.
So what should you look out for? The following silly message may be sent to your Twitter account soon:
"Wow, this is so awesome - I just got over 1000 followers today from http://twittercut.com"
Those desperate enough to click on the link are sent to a third party website that asks for your Twitter username and password. Bad news awaits those who actually enter their personal details. A worm will be sent to all your friends and the thing will spread like a worm spreads best - virally across the net, infecting the naive and the desperate.
Not only that, but the site looks lame, and those silly enough to get trapped should really think twice about the stray links they click on.
Twittercut has this to say about their amazing site:
"We recommend giving it a shot, it's free and will help you get the followers you need".
Like any social networking site, instant friend generators are most likely scams hidden in the emperor's new clothes. Tread carefully.
However, if you want to use Twitter the old fashioned way, you can always subscribe to PC Authority's Twitter feed; although we can't guarentee you 1000's of followers, we can promise a good read.

Be careful out there.
Stay good and be kind to each other.

Don't understand WHY you'd want thousands of followers....you can't ACTUALLY follow that many.
I check who's following me everyday and delete the ones that don't actually communicate - or know - with me.
I have heard something about that, that'll teach people to get greedy!
Yeah like Moko the last bloody thing I want is more followers than followees (?). I went 'private' in order to hide from the spambots. Made a massive difference to my Twuntering Experience.
havent had spam yet..THANK GOD, but really dont care who follows and who doesn't..like DOC and Moko, I keep track of what i need, F the rest. PS..ya old fart, how the temple going anyways.
